Still Here

Well it has been a hot minute since I have done a blog post.

2023 has been interesting. Been to a few awesome concerts, a bit of travel and a visit from family, saving money, health shift to mention a few which I plan to break down a bit into different posts in the next few days.

In September we took a quick trip to Denver, Colorado to go to a concert and finally a Broncos game. I have been a loyal fan since the late 1980’s and had never been to a live game until last month. It was an incredible experience, only could have been better if we had won the game.

I had no idea Denver was so spread out, it’s an interesting area. The downtown I was not a fan of. Didn’t seem very walkable and a lot of homeless. It was easy enough to navigate but when we drove by the pub we were going to stop in for lunch my husband didn’t look for a parking spot, he literally said “oh hell no” and we found another one further from the city center.

We went to the Broncos Training Center – because fan – and hit the gift shop on Friday, downtown area lunch and went to Empower Field Saturday to walk around without all the crowd and hit the team shop there too. Went back to the hotel and headed the Ministry/Alice Cooper/Rob Zombie concert which was epic!

Sunday was game day, we went for Irish breakfast then to the train to get to the game. I can’t properly describe my experience .. it was surreal for me to be there. Bonus: My husband didn’t know but the tickets he got us were pretty phenomenal, 40 yard line about mid way up the first section on our side of the field. We also didn’t know they were doing a special homecoming game to celebrate 25 years since the back to back Super Bowl wins. We were handed a small box with the game program on entering the stadium which contained a specially made “Super Bowl” ring that has both emblems on it! Half time they brought out many of the team from the 2nd win including almost all of my all time favorite players: Elway, McCaffrey, TD and more on to the field for a presentation. It was ridiculous!
