Another month in on this dog sitting adventure and we have settled a bit into a rhythm. They are behaving pretty well and our walks are much better. I think the hard thing for me right now is their digging/eating dirt in the backyard. It’s weird to me but apparently its fairly normal so I’m trying to just let it happen.
I have started adding blueberries, apples, carrots and broccoli and sometimes cottage cheese to their diet and I think it’s really helping the older smaller dog, she has more energy or it’s all in my imagination, who knows.
The husband came out for a week and that was so amazing. The big dog took to him super fast and having him here just took a load off me some. Plus I miss the man. He’s heading back here in a couple of days for another week and we can’t wait!
It is going to start warming up here and I’m not looking forward to walks in the heat and humidity of Florida but I’m focusing on end game now and trying not to get worked up about anything. Just going with it as gracefully as possible.
One bummer – we were planning since the start of this for my husband to be here during our anniversary week (also his birthday) but that was disrupted by a jury summons so he wont be able to be here that week, if you can believe that!?
I was looking forward to being in Louisiana, as a local, for Mardi Gras this year but volunteering for this took that away, hoping next year will be epic!
