No matter the movie I always see Michael Keaton as Batman…well since he did the role that is.
Val Kilmer is Doc Holiday.
Gary Oldman is Dracula.
Sally Field is Frog from Smokey and the Bandit.
Harrison ford is Indiana Jones.
Robin Williams is the wacky Professor of Dead Poets Society.
I know there are others but those stand out to me.
Do you have any actors you think embodied their characters so well its what you think of when you see them?
Julia Roberts as Pretty Woman, Johnny Depp as Edward Scissorhands, Jane Fonda as Barbarella!
Hah! Good ones!
Actuallt Johnny Depp will always be 21 Jump Street to me.
Henry winkler will always be “The Fonz”

Indeed!
Henry Winkler will always be “The Fonz”
I’m your Huckleberry
π
MacGyver! I recognize his real name when I see it, but it never comes to mind. π
I would have to google him but definitely the face to that character!
π I was just thinking that I definitely do this in reverse too– for instance, Jack Nicholson to me is always Jack Nicholson, no matter what he’s playing.
How true! Same for Anthony Hopkins for me.
π Yep, same here! He’s always just so distinctly himself.
Yes..even as a cannibal. Hah!
Adam West is Batman (not Michael Keaton π ), Mark Hamill is Luke Skywalker, and Gene Simmons is “The Demon”.
That said, I don’t think actors like being typecast. π
Did Mark Hamill do anything else?
I don’t think they do but it is what it is.. π
Mark Hamill did a few post-Star Wars movies…but nothing major. He was typecast.
Harrison Ford, and to some extent Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), had better luck.
By the way, did you know that Mark Hamill attended the high school on the U.S. Navy base in Yokosuka when he was a teenager?
Was it by coincidence that you listed Val Kilmer directly after Michael Ketaon’s Batman? (Val Kilmer also played Batman once).
Nice catch..it was not on purpose but I noticed I did that.
Hope you don’t mind if I write so many comments on this post. (I like movies a lot!)
I don’t agree that Gary Oldman is synonymous with “Dracula”.
Bela Lugosi = Dracula.
I dont mind at all and I had to consider Lugosi but Oldman won for me.
