Legendary Actors-Epic Characters

No matter the movie I always see Michael Keaton as Batman…well since he did the role that is.

Val Kilmer is Doc Holiday.

Gary Oldman is Dracula.

Sally Field is Frog from Smokey and the Bandit.

Harrison ford is Indiana Jones.

Robin Williams is the wacky Professor of Dead Poets Society.

I know there are others but those stand out to me.

Do you have any actors you think embodied their characters so well its what you think of when you see them?

      1. πŸ™‚ I was just thinking that I definitely do this in reverse too– for instance, Jack Nicholson to me is always Jack Nicholson, no matter what he’s playing.

  1. Adam West is Batman (not Michael Keaton πŸ˜‰ ), Mark Hamill is Luke Skywalker, and Gene Simmons is “The Demon”.

That said, I don’t think actors like being typecast. πŸ˜‰

      1. Mark Hamill did a few post-Star Wars movies…but nothing major. He was typecast.
Harrison Ford, and to some extent Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), had better luck.

By the way, did you know that Mark Hamill attended the high school on the U.S. Navy base in Yokosuka when he was a teenager?

  2. Hope you don’t mind if I write so many comments on this post. (I like movies a lot!)

I don’t agree that Gary Oldman is synonymous with “Dracula”.
    Bela Lugosi = Dracula.
