I had a moment last night and think my husband did too.
Movies don’t normally bring me to tears unless they are mushy, gushy Holiday type things that are specifically designed to gut wrench.
Last night we actually turned on a movie that we missed the first half of but not realizing so. After a couple of minutes trial watch we were hooked. At the end my throat constricted and my eyes started leaking a bit.
What an intensely moving movie. I’m still mesmerized by it and to know it was based on a true story made it even more incredible. I won’t go into details to not spoil it but here is the blurb from IMDB:
A former British Army officer, who was tormented as a prisoner of war at a Japanese labor camp during World War II, discovers that the man responsible for much of his treatment is still alive and sets out to confront him.
If you haven’t seen it, I truly and whole-heartedly suggest watching:
Sounds good. Sounds a lot like the story that Angelina Jolie produced, Unbroken., also a true story.
Oh. I don’t think I’ve seen that one.
The book was fantastic, but see the movie before reading the book.
