Ok 2026 lets see what you have in store for us.
Starting off:
Small wins and setbacks with the dogs, I’m not a dog whisperer – turns out. They dig in the dirt and eat what they find, she rolled in it once, he jumps the fence when the urge hits and some days she loves me, some days she won’t look at me.
Father-in-law is still in the hospital until they get his blood pressure controlled and the right dose of meds for it. Then we find out what conditions he will be needing to return home – home town, not necessarily his home.
Husband is watching the dog and rather frustrated with it. Right now after all of this we are not wanting a dog. Will see if that changes.
My health has taken a bit of a turn, my own doing with comfort food and not wanting to cook for myself. I’m working on changing that. This is kind of typical for me, holidays I don’t stick with healthy eating then I rebound. Week one here my wrist was yanked pretty hard and it still hurts when turned certain ways. That may be a forever ache I’ve taken on. Adding to my bad knee and ankle on the same side. My left half is not going to age well.
I have picked up drawing – I have no talent but using it as an expression and just seeing where it goes. I’ll probably burn the sketch book when I return home. Also, considering learning to knit while I’m here. I want to use this time to learn something new and useful in case zombie apocalypse and such.
Lets do this 2026
I kind of get the dog thing. Lisa and I were joking about getting a dog last night.. JOKING. My dad brought his skittish Australian Shepherd with him when he visited this past weekend, and one of my brothers brought his 8 month old Chow to our family get together on Saturday. Both dogs are a different kind of headache. Plus, Lisa and I are used to a tidy home, something that would be a challenge with a dog.
I grew up with a non-shedding dog so taking care of these two is a revelation on not having a tidy/clean home that I’m used to. I sweep every day and every day there’s a huge ball of hair at the end. It’s a lot.
The previous owners of our house had two medium sized long haired dogs. One of the first orders of business for us was to have the ducts cleaned and to get rid of the carpet in the house. The ducts were caked with hair.
