Week One Milestone

Well, we passed the one week mark of this dog sitting adventure and I’m trying hard not to count forward.

My husband travels for work, usually a week or two at a time with a week or two home right now but he has also been gone for a month sometimes. When he isn’t traveling for work he’s home taking care of the house and family while I’m here with the dogs. We are hoping some of his off time he can visit me for a bit.

I am hoping he will come visit in December but that’s not a sure thing as his dad’s birthday is at the end of the year and he’s not doing very well. So, there’s a chance we might not see each other until mid/end of January.

We are both avoiding looking at the end of my time here because the sad reality is he is very likely heading overseas for work at the same time I will likely be returning home. I’m truly hoping we at least get a week together at the house before he has to go. It will be for a longer time as well likely.

Such a strange time for us, how this year has played out. In the end though, we are financially stable and I work remote so I can work anywhere. He is working hard so we can pay off our mortgage fast but we are sacrificing time together to make this happen and it isn’t easy.

I am thankful for our strong marriage and that our values and decisions line up so well.

Physically, my body is paying the price a bit. I have some allergies that are kicking in, my wrist is jarred from the walk the other day, my legs and arms are covered in bug bites. Fun Times.
